All is Well in My World

I am by nature a little Eeyore-ish, some might say a practised moaner! These past few weeks have been, shall we say, challenging. My poor husband was sick enough to be hospitalised and is still very sore, our teething baba is waking too many times a night, and now both girls have chicken pox. I feel a migraine hovering. I am tired to my core. But I am also doing great.

The secret?

Making sure I take my blogging time: what wonderful therapy it is telling pure strangers about your periods and greying hair!

And a book which I hated when I first read it years ago: Louise L Hay's You Can Heal Your Life... which I ordered into my life again. I had a sense I needed to read it. Oh boy was I right!

It combines the whole cosmic ordering thing (which I wrote about here), with affirmations (which I normally have very little tolerance for!), the mental roots of illness and lots of self-actualisation exercises... I shouldn't like it... but I do!

She has a couple of affirmations you should say to yourself multiple times a day... One is "I am willing to change", another is "all is well in my world".

So every time I think "Oh for "*$%! sake!", now I think - "all is well in my world". Every time I feel tired, and fed up, and oh poor me, I think, "all is well in my world". And you know what? It is! The negative thought, the drip, drip, drip of the whingey moaning voice that I listen to in my head is no more true or real a reading of the situation than the positive one. But the positive one makes me feel good, not a martyr. So I'm choosing that one.

Often with affirmations I don't "buy" them, they just feel fake and shammy. But this one, this one is good with me.

I have been doing another of her exercises... along the cosmic ordering lines to do with earning more money from my writing. I did it last night, and, imagine my shock when I turned on my computer and had an email out of the blue from an article writing service asking to use one of my blog posts... and pay for it. And then an hour later a phone call about some paid editing. I then received payment for two invoices I was owed, for JUNO (a magazine which I write for and help to edit) which I had sold to a shop . €110 for my creativity today! Bingo! So dear reader, all is well in my world. And in yours too I hope?

So let me sign off by sharing the affirmation:

In the infinity of life where I am,
all is perfect, whole and complete.
My unique creative talents and abilities flow through me
and are expressed in deeply satisfying ways.
There are people out there who are always
looking for my services. I am always in demand
and can pick and choose what I want to do.
I earn good money doing what satisfies me.
My work is a joy and a pleasure.
All is well in my world.

  4. Ah bugger it, seems like the article writing thang might be a scam, they have approached a lot of other bloggers who are suspicious too... I have done some googling and things don't quite add up - ah well, that makes a cool €99 I made yesterday instead!

So people if you are approached by Sarah Miller or Jordan Fisher from Article Writing Services. org, then we are suspicious... no proof, but sounds a little odd... be warned and wary. But remember, all is well in my world.

  5. This REALLY helped me today as I too can do self pity and woe is me when I'm under pressure! And under pressure is definitely where I'm at at the mo. Instead of listing off the good things its so easy to focus on the list of reasons to feel sorry for yourself and to think how hard it all is, and it is!!!..... but compared to other hardships it all is a load of trivial crap that we whinge about, mostly! Hope everyone in your household is better soon, chicken pox is not much fun but in the grand scheme of life, is but a blink of an eye. Three of mine got it one after the other after the other so wiped out a whole month of our social life back in 2006! so I know what its like. hang in there mama and keep smiling! :-) mf
